line offset
The lowest bits of an address, which say which byte inside a cache line is wanted.
The line (block) offset is the low log2(line size) bits of an address; it selects bytes within a line and plays no part in deciding hit or miss.
Examples
With 64-byte lines, the low 6 bits of an address are the line offset:
0x1234has offset0x34.
