loop unrolling
Copying a loop's body several times per pass so the loop runs fewer passes and spends less time on the counter and branch.
Loop unrolling replicates the body k times per iteration, dividing the number of loop-control instructions by k, with a remainder loop for trip counts not divisible by k.
Examples
A loop of 100 additions can become 25 passes of 4 additions each.
