SIGABRT

The signal a program sends itself when a library check decides it must stop at once, for example a failed assert or a detected heap problem.

SIGABRT is raised by abort(), which assert failures, std::terminate, allocator consistency checks and the stack-protector failure handler call; the default action ends the process with a core dump. Windows reports the corresponding fail-fast as an exception such as STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN or a CRT abort.
