single-cycle processor
A simple processor design that does all the work of one instruction, from fetch to writing the result, in one long clock cycle.
A single-cycle processor completes each instruction in exactly one clock cycle, so the cycle must be long enough for the slowest instruction's whole path (typically a load: fetch, decode and register read, address add, memory read, register write).
