hypotenuse
The longest side of a right triangle — the one opposite the right angle.
The hypotenuse of a right triangle is the side opposite its 90° angle. It is always the triangle's longest side, and it is the side the Pythagorean theorem solves for.
Examples
In a right triangle with legs 3 and 4, the hypotenuse is 5.
