Free public beta until December 4, 2026: every course is open, no card needed. After that, the first chapter of each course stays free and full access is a one-time $39 ($19 for up to 100 founding members chosen for helpful feedback). Your progress is kept. How the beta works

scalar

A quantity described by a single number alone — no direction attached.

A scalar is a quantity fully described by one number (with units), such as mass, temperature, or speed — as opposed to a vector, which needs both a magnitude and a direction. Multiplying a vector by a scalar k stretches or shrinks its length by |k|, and reverses its direction whenever k is negative.
