singular matrix
A square matrix with determinant zero — it has no inverse.
A singular matrix is a square matrix whose determinant equals 0. Singular matrices never have an inverse, since the inverse formula requires dividing by the determinant, and their rows are proportional — the linear system they represent has no unique solution.
