.NET Framework

The older, Windows-only .NET, now in maintenance only.

The .NET Framework (versions 1.0–4.8.x) is the original Windows-only implementation of .NET; it is supported but receives no new features, and new work targets modern .NET.

Examples

An old project file with <TargetFrameworkVersion>v4.8</TargetFrameworkVersion> targets .NET Framework 4.8.
