Checking input before trusting it.
Input validation verifies that external data is well-formed and within expected bounds before use, re-prompting or rejecting otherwise.
Examples
while (!int.TryParse(Console.ReadLine(), out age) || age < 0)keeps asking until the age is a whole number that isn't negative.
