MSBuild target

A named step of a build, like Restore or Build, made of smaller tasks.

A target is a named, ordered group of tasks with dependencies (DependsOnTargets, BeforeTargets, AfterTargets); dotnet build runs the Build target and those it depends on.

Examples

  • dotnet msbuild -t:Restore runs just the Restore target.
