ORM
A library that lets you work with database rows as ordinary C# objects.
An object-relational mapper translates between an object model and a relational schema; EF Core maps entity classes to tables and LINQ to SQL.
Examples
EF Core is a full ORM that writes the SQL for you; Dapper is a small one that maps rows from SQL you write.
