Span<T>

A window onto part of an array or other memory, without copying it.

Span is a ref struct describing a contiguous region of memory (array, stackalloc or native) that can be sliced without allocation; it cannot live on the heap or across an await.

Examples

  • ReadOnlySpan<char> year = "2026-09-26".AsSpan(0, 4); looks at the first four characters without copying them.
