Task

An object standing for work that may not have finished yet.

System.Threading.Tasks.Task (and Task) represents an asynchronous operation and its eventual completion, result, fault or cancellation.

Examples

  • Task<string> download = client.GetStringAsync(url); starts the download now; the string is ready when the task finishes.
