virtual method

A method a derived class is allowed to replace.

A virtual member can be overridden in a derived class with override; calls through a base-typed reference run the most-derived override.

Examples

  • public virtual decimal Shipping() => 5m; in the base class, public override decimal Shipping() => 0m; in a derived one.
