The fixed multiplier on one feature in a weighted sum; it says how much the output changes per one-unit change in that feature.

Examples

In $z = 0.5 x_1 + 0.2 x_2 + 1$ , the weights are $0.5$ and $0.2$ -- training later adjusts them.
