Free public beta until December 4, 2026: every course is open, no card needed. After that, the first chapter of each course stays free and full access is a one-time $39 ($19 for up to 100 founding members chosen for helpful feedback). Your progress is kept. How the beta works

degradation model

A clean image blurred by a PSF, then hit with additive noise.

The degradation model g(x,y) = (h*f)(x,y) + n(x,y) describes an observed image g as the unknown clean image f convolved with a point spread function h, plus additive noise n. In the frequency domain (via the convolution theorem and DFT linearity), G(u,v) = H(u,v)F(u,v) + N(u,v) -- the starting point every restoration method in this chapter works from.
