inverse mapping
Resampling by asking, for every output pixel, where it came from in the source.
Inverse mapping applies a transform's inverse to every OUTPUT pixel to find its SOURCE location, guaranteeing complete, hole-free coverage -- unlike forward mapping, which can leave output positions unwritten (holes) or overwritten (collisions).
