reflection coefficient

A lattice filter's own parameter, one per stage, computed from the direct-form coefficients by the step-down recursion.

A reflection coefficient k_m parametrizes one stage of a lattice filter, combining forward and backward prediction-error signals. An order-M system's coefficients convert to reflection coefficients via the step-down recursion, and the system is stable exactly when every |k_m|<1.
