microcontroller
A whole small computer on one chip: processor, memory and input/output.
A microcontroller (MCU) puts a CPU, flash memory, RAM and peripherals on a single chip, so it can run a program and touch the outside world with almost no extra parts. It usually runs one program with no operating system.
