ellipsis
Three dots marking words left out of a quotation, or speech trailing off.
An ellipsis is a row of three periods that marks words omitted from a quotation; the shortened quotation must keep the source's meaning. MLA spaces the periods (. . .). In dialogue, an ellipsis can also show a pause or a voice trailing off.
Examples
"The new bus route . . . will start in June."
