digital signature
Made with a private key, checked by anyone with the public key.
A digital signature (Ed25519, ECDSA P-256) gives integrity, authenticity and non-repudiation verifiable by anyone with the signer's public key; it hides nothing.
Examples
A bench node signs with its Ed25519 or ECDSA P-256 private key, and anyone with its public key can check the signature.
A firmware image is hashed and the hash signed, so any device holding the public key can verify the update came from you.
