multi-level wildcard

The # at the end of a topic filter, standing for that level and everything below it.

The multi-level wildcard # matches the parent level and any number of levels after it and may only appear as the last level, so home/# matches home, home/a and home/a/b.

Examples

  • gh/# matches gh/bench1/temp, gh/bench1 and even gh itself.

  • A filter of just # receives every ordinary topic, but not the broker's own $SYS/... topics.
