role-based access control
Giving people permissions through roles, such as viewer or operator, instead of one by one.
Role-based access control assigns permissions to roles and roles to users, so an access check asks whether any of the user's roles grants the action on the resource.
Examples
In the greenhouse, the wall screen in the potting shed is a viewer, growers are operators who may send commands, and the owner is admin; a new grower just gets the operator role.
