A type listing methods that implementing classes promise to supply, with no per-object state.

A reference type whose body-less methods are implicitly public abstract and whose fields are public static final; a class implements any number of them.

Examples

  • interface Shape { double area(); } and record Circle(double r) implements Shape { ... }.
