JDK

The kit you install to write and run Java, with the compiler, the JVM, and tools.

A Java Development Kit is an implementation of Java SE that bundles the JVM, the standard library, and development tools such as javac, java, jshell, jar, and jlink.

Examples

  • javac -version and java -version both print the JDK's version, such as 25.0.4.
