reference

A pointer to a specific piece of information elsewhere, such as a source document or an earlier message.

A reference points to a specific piece of information located elsewhere -- a cited source document, an earlier turn in a conversation, or an external identifier a model's output must stay consistent with.

Examples

  • A RAG answer includes a reference to the document chunk it was generated from.
