kernel

\ker T — every input a linear transformation sends to the zero vector.

For a linear transformation T, the kernel, written \ker T, is the set of every vector in T's domain that T sends to the zero vector of the codomain. \ker T is always a subspace of the domain, and when T has standard matrix A, \ker T = \operatorname{Nul}(A).
