Free public beta until December 4, 2026: every course is open, no card needed. After that, the first chapter of each course stays free and full access is a one-time $39 ($19 for up to 100 founding members chosen for helpful feedback). Your progress is kept. How the beta works

trivial solution

\mathbf x = \mathbf 0 — the solution every homogeneous system always has.

Setting x_1=\cdots=x_n=0 satisfies every row of a homogeneous system A\mathbf x=\mathbf 0 automatically, so \mathbf x = \mathbf 0, the trivial solution, always works. The open question is only whether it is the only solution, or whether nontrivial solutions also exist.
