distributive law
"And" distributes over "or," and "or" distributes over "and."
The distributive laws state that A ∧ (B ∨ C) ≡ (A ∧ B) ∨ (A ∧ C) and A ∨ (B ∧ C) ≡ (A ∨ B) ∧ (A ∨ C).
Examples
"Soup, and salad or bread" says the same as "soup and salad, or soup and bread."
