slippery slope
Claiming one step will set off an unstoppable chain of worse ones, without support.
A slippery slope argument rejects an action because it will supposedly lead, link by link, to some extreme outcome. It is fallacious when the links are not supported; a chain in which every step is shown to be likely is a legitimate argument.
Examples
"If we let students retake one quiz, soon they'll expect to retake every exam, and grades will mean nothing."
