database migration

A numbered script that changes the database's structure, applied once and in order.

Migrations are versioned SQL files applied in order and recorded in the database, so every copy of the schema evolves the same way (sqlx migrate).

Examples

  • sqlx migrate add create_repairs makes an empty migrations/<timestamp>_create_repairs.sql; sqlx::migrate!().run(&pool) applies pending ones at startup.
