fuzzing

Throwing huge numbers of random, broken inputs at code to find crashes.

Fuzzing runs a target function on generated inputs guided by coverage, looking for panics, hangs, and undefined behavior; cargo-fuzz uses libFuzzer and currently needs nightly.

Examples

  • cargo +nightly fuzz run parse_amount feeds generated bytes to a fuzz_target! and saves any input that crashes it under fuzz/artifacts/parse_amount/.
