health check

A small endpoint that tells an orchestrator whether the service is alive and ready.

Liveness checks say the process is running; readiness checks say it can serve (database reachable); orchestrators restart or route around failing instances.

Examples

  • GET /healthz answers 200 OK while the process is alive; GET /readyz answers 503 Service Unavailable until the service can take traffic.
