A value stored at one fixed place for the whole run.

A static item has a single fixed memory location that lives for the entire program.

Examples

  • static BUILD_NUMBER: u32 = 1042; is stored at one fixed address for the whole run, and println!("Build {BUILD_NUMBER}") prints Build 1042.
