trimming

Cutting unused code out of a self-contained app so it ships smaller.

Trimming statically removes unreachable IL from a self-contained app; code reached only through reflection can be removed too, which the trim analyzer warns about (IL2xxx).

  • dotnet publish -r linux-x64 -p:PublishTrimmed=true, and every IL2xxx warning marks code that may break once trimmed.
