access point
The Wi-Fi box (usually the router) a device connects to.
An access point is the Wi-Fi base station that devices associate with; when it reboots or moves channel, every device on it loses its link.
Examples
The greenhouse node's Wi-Fi frames go first to the home router's access point, which passes them on to the laptop at 192.168.1.10.
A house with a router and an extender has two access points, each with its own MAC address, sharing one network name.
