desired state

What the app wants the device's settings to be.

Desired state is the part of a shadow written by applications to request a configuration; it takes effect only when the device applies it and reports back.

Examples

  • A grower's app writes fan=70, report_s=30, mode="eco" as the desired state; only apps write this part of the shadow, never the device.
