Free public beta until December 4, 2026: every course is open, no card needed. After that, the first chapter of each course stays free and full access is a one-time $39 ($19 for up to 100 founding members chosen for helpful feedback). Your progress is kept. How the beta works

feature

One number computed from a window of readings that keeps something the window says.

A feature is a scalar statistic of a sample window, such as its mean, RMS, peak-to-peak, zero-crossing count or the magnitude of one spectral bin.

Examples

  • The RMS of one axis over a 1 s window is the single feature the lab's detector watches for imbalance.

  • The window's mean is a feature that reports the housing's tilt, not its vibration.
