UDP
A simple way to send a single message to a port, with no setup and no promise it arrives.
UDP sends independent datagrams to a port with an 8-byte header and no connection, ordering, retransmission or flow control; the application decides how to handle loss.
Examples
Sending the greenhouse reading by UDP adds just an 8-byte header with ports, length and checksum, with no connection setup.
If one UDP reading is lost, nobody is told; the laptop simply sees the next one 10 seconds later.
