ACID
Atomicity, consistency, isolation and durability, the four guarantees of a transaction.
ACID names what a DBMS promises for transactions; all-or-nothing changes (atomicity), declared rules holding at commit (consistency), no visibility of other transactions' unfinished work (isolation), and committed changes surviving crashes (durability).
