constructor

Special code named after the class, with no return type, that sets up each new object.

A constructor is invoked by new with the given arguments; new allocates the object with default field values, runs field initializers, runs the constructor body, then yields the reference.

Examples

  • Account(String owner) { this.owner = owner; } runs when new Account("Ada") is evaluated.
