unchecked exception
An exception the compiler doesn't make you catch or declare: a RuntimeException or an Error.
Unchecked exceptions usually report a caller's mistake (RuntimeException) or a JVM failure (Error); they may still be caught.
Examples
Integer.parseInt("x")throwsNumberFormatException, which nothrowsclause has to mention.
