conditional
An "if … then" claim.
A conditional is a statement of the form "if P, then Q." It claims that whenever the first part is true, the second part is true too. The only way a conditional is false is for its first part to be true and its second part false.
Examples
"If the alarm sounds, everyone leaves the building."
"You'll get a discount if you pay early" is a conditional with its parts in reverse order.
