introduction rule
A rule for writing a new sentence whose main connective is a given connective.
An introduction rule tells you how to reach a sentence whose main connective is a particular connective. For example, ∧I reaches a conjunction from its two conjuncts.
Examples
∧I, ∨I, →I, ↔I, and ¬I are the introduction rules.
