truth value

Whether a statement is true or false.

A statement's truth value is true if the statement matches the way things are and false if it does not. In this course every statement has exactly one of the two truth values.

Examples

  • The truth value of "Water boils at 100 °C at sea level" is true.

  • The truth value of "Every month has 31 days" is false.
