nonlinear PDE

A PDE where the unknown function or one of its derivatives is multiplied by another copy of itself, raised to a power, or fed through a nonlinear function.

A PDE that is not linear -- u or one of its partial derivatives appears raised to a power other than 1, multiplied by another copy of u or a derivative of u, or inside a nonlinear function.
