Cargo.lock

The file recording the exact dependency versions a build used.

Cargo.lock records the exact version of every dependency resolved for a build so later builds use the same ones.

Examples

  • After cargo add heck, Cargo.lock records name = "heck", version = "0.5.0" and a checksum, so every later build uses that exact release.
