prelude

The names every Rust file can use without importing them.

The prelude is the set of standard-library items (String, Vec, Option, Result, ...) automatically in scope in every module.

Examples

  • String, Vec and Option come from the prelude and need no use line, but max(3, 9) without use std::cmp::max; fails with E0425.
