UDP

Sending single messages that may be lost, duplicated, or arrive out of order, with no connection.

UDP sends independent datagrams with no delivery or ordering guarantees; UdpSocket::send_to and recv_from move whole messages.

Examples

  • UdpSocket::send_to(b"bed1 21.5", addr) returns Ok(9) even when nobody is listening at addr: UDP never confirms delivery.
