namespace

A name that groups related types, like a folder for code.

A namespace is a named scope for types (System.Text, System.Collections.Generic) that prevents name clashes; using directives let you refer to its types by short name.

Examples

  • System.Text.StringBuilder is the StringBuilder type in the System.Text namespace.
